The Cimex Group is going to invest about 2 billion CZK into purchase of new hotels. Thus it wants to strengthen its position of the largest Czech hotel owner at a time when hotel business goes through hard times, the number of guests is low and the owners are constantly forced to cut down prices.

Starbucks, world’s largest café chain, entered the Czech market as late as January this year, but has been growing steadily ever since. Only four months after the first café was opened on Malostranské Square, Prague, the company is opening a fifth one in Avion Shopping Park, Zličín. However, Czech café chains still resist the tough competition of American chains like Starbucks, its sister company KFC, and McDonald’s. For example, Café Emporio, a Czech chain, more than doubled its annual operating profit last year. This has been confirmed by Vladimír Staněk, director of Emporio, although the company does not wish to reveal exact data.

The Rise of „B-Real Estates“

The Cimex concern is the largest Czech hotel company, owning the Orea Hotels chain. Now, Cimex is going to invest five billion Czech crowns into more real estate.

The uncertainty about the future of the Hrubá Skála Castle in Bohemian Paradise has been going on for 5707 days now. The descendants of the noble family of Aehrental, who were the original owners of the castle, have been dealing with Czech authorities on the possibility of restitution for no less than fifteen years.

In consequence of a legal transformation, there have been changes effective on 30th June 2007 in the Interhotel Voronez Company, which is a member of the CIMEX Group and, at the same time, a part of the Orea Hotels chain. From the point of view of the clients, the Interhotel Voronez Company, now having a new identification number, will virtually remain unchanged. The company's name and residence will be preserved, as well as the quality and range of provided services.
