The theme that traditionally connects the different parts of the festival will be HAPPINESS this year. Last year Designblok had its premiere in Gabriel Loci, this year it returns to the rugged spaces of the former Beuron monastery and the building in Holečkova Street will be used for exhibitions of new products by designers, schools, galleries, manufacturers and retailers. As well as the Gabriel Loci space, which will house Superstudio, Openstudio, Designérie and the Art House in the church, contemporary design will also fill two floors of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, where the RENESANCE 21 exhibition house will open. In addition to these spaces, Designblok will also see a number of galleries, showrooms and pop-up shops opening across Prague, with special programmes for visitors. Designblok traditionally presents the work of designers and manufacturers with an emphasis on Central Europe, showcasing new products from prestigious brands and prototypes from young designers and design studios.
