CIMEX secures syndicated financing of EUR 140M for the further development of its hotel division OREA Hotels & Resorts.

OREA increases hotel capacity / Vista shopping arcade is being built

Reconstruction of part of the rooms of OREA Hotel Pyramida Prague. Reconstruction of the restaurant, reception, lobby and part of the rooms of OREA Resort Sklář Harrachov. Expansion of hotel capacity of OREA Resort Horizont in Šumava.

Completion of the reconstruction of office space into flexible furnished offices mo-cha and construction of a new 1,500 m2 retail arcade in the Vista building.

Sensa Fine Food Bistro and mo-cha

As part of the strategic development of the hospitality segment, the group’s portfolio was expanded to include the SenSa Fine Food Bistro, which complements the offering of the OREA Place Seno hotel.

The offer of flexible mo-cha offices comes to Prague in the renovated premises of the Vista House office building.

OREA Place Seno / Senovážná 19

Office buildings Vista House and CIMEX House underwent complete renovations as part of the group’s ongoing real estate development. In parallel, a new Pop Up Gallery was launched to support emerging artists.

In the hospitality segment, the group introduced a new brand, OREA Place, which combines apartment-style living with hotel services. As part of this concept, the property at Senovážná 8 was renovated and reopened as the OREA Place Seno hotel. CIMEX also expanded its presence in the center of Prague by acquiring the building at Senovážné náměstí 19 from Trinity Bank.

Gabriel Loci / Sixty House

The CIMEX Group acquired the former St. Gabriel’s Monastery in Prague’s Smíchov district, marking a significant addition to its real estate portfolio. At the same time, the group launched the reconstruction of the Sixty House office building located in Prague 4.

In the hospitality segment, a gradual renovation began at the OREA Congress Hotel Brno, including upgrades to the restaurant, reception area, lobby, and a portion of the guest rooms.

OREA Spa Hotel Cristal / OREA Spa Hotel San Remo

In 2019, the CIMEX Group continued to expand its activities across various segments. In the hospitality sector, two new hotels in Mariánské Lázně – OREA Spa Hotel Cristal and OREA Spa Hotel San Remo – were added to the growing OREA hotel network. In Brno, a new mo-cha coworking space was opened in the former premises of the Moravská Chalupa restaurant and wine bar. In the office real estate segment, the Edulios qualified investor fund sold the City West B1 office building, while the group further expanded its portfolio by acquiring the property at Senovážné náměstí 4 in Prague from Trinity Bank.

Orea Congress Hotel Brno

The congress hall of the Voroněž Hotel is reconstructed and, as a result, the largest multi-purpose congress venue in Brno is created.

Angelo by Vienna House

CIMEX GROUP acquired the four-star hotel Angelo by Vienna House, located in Prague 5 from the Austrian group Warimpex. This acquisition marked the extention and diversification of our hospitality assets portfolio.

Vyšehrad Garden / Sixty House

CIMEX GROUP v  Prague street Na  Pankrác bought two buildings. She bought the Vyšehrad Garden office building from  IMMOFINANZ group. The subject of the second acquisition was the current headquarters of ČSOB Leasing.

Business with administrative buildings

CIMEX GROUP continued its activities in commercial real estate, namely office buildings. Major notable transactions were the sale of office buildings on Vyskočilova Street in Prague 4 and the acquisition of flagsship office building City West “B1”, located in Stodůlky in Prague, which features office and commercial space totalling over 22,000 m2.

JOINING THE GENCOM GROUP

Through its partnership with Gencom Group, CIMEX invests in upscale hotels and resorts (managed under brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, Fairmont, Hyatt).

Portfolio of office buildings

CIMEX GROUP strengthened its portfolio of office buildings intended primarily for commercial office rental. It acquired two office building complexes located on Kubánské Square and Perucká street from the domestic construction giant Skanska

The CIMEX GROUP expanded its investment activities via acquisition of a network of EMPORIO CAFÉ luxury cafés.

Orea Hotels & Resorts

The turn of the millennium brought new opportunities in the form of the franchising of the OREA HOTELS & RESORTS brand. At this time, CIMEX GROUP launched a massive reconstruction effort on hotels within the OREA chain.

Concurrently in the USA, the CIMEX INVEST subsidiary invested in a variety of development projects.

CIMEX GROUP was established. A number of major companies were included in its portfolio (ENERGOPROJEKT PRAHA a. s., Mechanizace traťového hospodářství a.s., Metroprojekt Praha, Vodní zdroje, leasing company IB LEAS, a.s., porcelánka CONCORDIA a.s., Tatra Kopřivnice a.s., VT DIOSS Chomutov a.s., OREA spol. s r.o., and many others).

CIMEX TRADING a.s. was founded. It traded securities and was floated on the Prague Stock Exchange.

CIMEX INVEST a.s.

Investment company CIMEX INVEST a.s. was founded. Investment funds from nearly 50,000 shareholders were received during the 1st and 2nd wave of voucher privatization. During the nineties, CIMEX reconstructed many well-known properties, namely the Excelsior Hotel in Mariánské Lázně, Poštovní Dvůr and the Vindobona mixed-use building in Karlovy Vary.

CIMEX Karlovy Vary, spol. s.r.o. was founded by Jana Sobotová and Petr Lukeš. International trade and logistics were the focus of its activities.
